Matthew 21:1-11
When they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives, Jesus then sent two disciples, telling them, “Go into the village ahead of you. At once you will find a donkey tied there with her colt. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them at once.”
This took place so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:
Tell Daughter Zion, “See, your King is coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
The disciples went and did just as Jesus directed them. They brought the donkey and the colt; then they laid their clothes on them, and he sat on them. A very large crowd spread their clothes on the road; others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. Then the crowds who went ahead of him and those who followed shouted: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!
When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in an uproar, saying, “Who is this?” The crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Revelation 19:11-16
Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with justice he judges and makes war. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on his head. He had a name written that no one knows except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

As the beauty of spring begins to appear all around us, we are reminded of God’s goodness, His faithfulness, and the new life He brings. The flowers bloom, the days grow warmer, and creation itself seems to testify that our God is a God of hope, renewal, and resurrection.
Spring is a season that points our hearts toward Easter. Just as the earth seems to come alive again after winter, Easter reminds us of the greatest truth ever proclaimed: Jesus Christ is risen indeed! Our Savior conquered sin, death, and the grave, and because He lives, we have hope. Because He lives, we have forgiveness. Because He lives, we can face each day with confidence and joy.
Easter is more than a holiday on the calendar. It is the celebration of the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. The cross reminds us of His great love, and the empty tomb reminds us of His great power. What seemed like defeat on Friday became eternal victory on Sunday morning. Praise God that the grave could not hold Him!
As we enter this special season, I encourage each of us to reflect on what Easter truly means. Let us remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us and rejoice in the new life we have through Him. Let this be a season of renewed faith, deeper gratitude, and joyful worship.
Spring also gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite others to church. Many people are searching for hope, peace, and purpose, and the message of Easter gives the answer they need. I want to encourage you to pray for someone, invite a friend or neighbor, and ask God to use this season to touch hearts and change lives.
May our church be filled with praise this Easter season. May our homes be filled with peace. And may our hearts be filled with the living hope that comes only through Jesus Christ.

He is not here, for He has risen, as he said. – Matthew 28:6

May God bless you and your family this spring and Easter season.
With love in Christ,
Pastor Eddie Piercy
